Centennial Conference Athletes of the Week - Sept. 19-25


LANCASTER, Pa. — Conference play is now underway in every Centennial fall sport as we approach the one-month mark of the 2022 campaign. 

A pair of repeat winners highlight this week’s CC awards – Teddy Mercer of Dickinson men’s cross country and Hazel Miller of Bryn Mawr field hockey. Other weekly winners for Sept. 19-25 include Amiyah Priebe of Dickinson women’s cross country, Katie Roper of Franklin & Marshall field hockey, Axel Whamond of Johns Hopkins men’s soccer, Noah Rodriguez of McDaniel men’s soccer, Meg Tate of Dickinson women’s soccer, Emma Nolan of Franklin & Marshall women’s soccer, Simone Adam of Johns Hopkins volleyball, and Chelsea O’Leary of Gettysburg volleyball.

Athlete of the Week

Teddy Mercer, Sr., Dickinson

Cortland, N.Y. | Homer

Mercer led the Red Devils to the top team finish among Division III teams at the 34-team Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday. Mercer raced to 26th place in the 290-runner field, posting a time of 25:21.3 to be the sixth-best Division III finisher. Dickinson came in behind only Cornell and Wayne State in the team standings. 

Athlete of the Week

Amiyah Priebe, So., Dickinson

Newport, Pa. | Newport

Priebe finished 31st in a 285-runner field at the Lock Haven Invitational with a time of 22:32.7. She was the sixth Division III runner to finish and helped the Red and White to be the highest-finishing Division III team in a 34-team field that consisted of participants from all three divisions. 

 

Offensive Player of the Week

Hazel Miller, So., F, Bryn Mawr 

Newport, Pa. | Newport

Miller repeated as Offensive Player of the Week after scoring four goals in the Owls’ 6-0 victory over Gettysburg. Miller’s four goals tied the program record for most goals in a single game. The Owls are off to a 7-1 start to the 2022 season, and Miller leads the conference in both goals (8) and points (19). 

 

Defensive Player of the Week

Katie Roper, Sr., D/M, Franklin & Marshall
