Player of the Week

Sarah Franklin, Wisconsin

RS-So. – OH – Lake Worth, Fla. – Lake Worth Christian – Major: Civil Engineering

• Averaged 5.36 points, 5.14 kills, 2.43 digs and 0.43 blocks per set with a double-double last week in pacing No. 5 Wisconsin to conference wins at Iowa and vs. No. 24 Michigan

• Collected 20 kills and hit .567 in an Oct. 14 sweep of Iowa

• Added 16 kills and 11 digs in Sunday’s four-set win over nationally-ranked Michigan

• Named an Academic All-Big Ten selection last season

• Captures her first career Player of the Week award

Defensive Player of the Week

Anastasia Russ, Maryland

RS-Jr. – MB – Pittsburgh, Pa. – Hampton – Major: Pre-Med

• Posted 3.67 points, 2.50 blocks and 2.17 kills per set last week as Maryland registered a pair of sweeps on the road in conference play at Northwestern and No. 9 Purdue

• Had six blocks and seven kills in Sunday’s win over Purdue, the Terrapins’ first on the road against a top-10 opponent since joining the Big Ten Conference in 2014

• Contributed nine blocks and six kills in Maryland’s Oct. 14 win at Northwestern

• Earns her first career Defensive Player of the Week award

Setter of the Week

Sydney Dowler, Maryland

Jr. – Cary, N.C. – Green Hope – Major: Pre-Med

• Delivered 10.33 assists, 2.67 digs, 1.17 blocks and 0.83 kills per set in Maryland’s conference sweeps last week at Northwestern and No. 9 Purdue

• Recorded 35 assists, eight digs and four blocks in Sunday’s win at Purdue, the Terrapins’ first top-10 road victory since joining the Big Ten and giving Maryland its third consecutive Big Ten sweep for the first time in program history

• Added 27 assists, eight digs and three blocks in the Oct. 14 win at Northwestern

• Receives her first career Setter of the Week selection

• Last Maryland Setter of the Week: None (Dowler is school’s first honoree in this category)
