KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Morgahn Fingall and Klaudia Pawlik as members of its 2022 CSC Academic All-District Team, recognizing the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees scheduled to be announced in late December.
Fingall and Pawlik are two of 25 players from the Southeastern Conference on the Academic All-District list. It is the third consecutive season Tennessee has had a student-athlete earn all-district honors and the second year in a row multiple players have garnered the recognition.
A senior right-side, Fingall recently eclipsed the 1,000 career kill milestone and has played in all but two matches this season. She leads the team in kills with 416 and averages 4.24 kills per set. Her per-set mark leads the SEC and ranks 26th nationally.
Majoring in kinesiology with a minor in public health, Fingall holds a 3.62 GPA and is currently enrolled in graduate-level classes while finishing up her remaining undergraduate coursework. She has been named to the dean’s list on five occasions and is a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. This is the first CSC Academic All-District honor for the Fairfax, Virginia, native.
A 4.0 student majoring in finance, Pawlik is a first-time CSC Academic All-District member. A native of Hansk, Poland, the middle blocker was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll last season. Playing a key role for the Lady Vols for much of the season, Pawlik has started 18 matches and is second on the squad in total blocks at 67.
She has 63 kills on the offensive side of the net, averaging 1.07 per set.
