TEMPE, Ariz. – Seniors Iman Isanovic and Annika Larson-Nummer from Sun Devil Volleyball were both named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, which recognizes student-athletes from strong performances in both the classroom and the gym.
This is the third year in a row that Isanovic has made all-district and last year she was a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American. She currently has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 while studying political science. For Larson-Nummer, this is her first honor. While pursuing her degree in marketing (digital and integrated marketing communications) and sustainability, she has a cumulative GPA of 3.9.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First- and second-team academic All-America honorees will be announced in late December. The award was previously from CoSIDA, but the organization recently changed the name to College Sports Communicators.
Isanovic has had another stellar year for the Sun Devils as an outside hitter. This season, she has surpassed 1,000 career kills and has climbed up the ASU record books. She’s currently in eighth place all-time with 1,366 kills. In all but six matches, she has notched double-digit kills, including two 20-plus kill performances. This season, Isanovic leads the team in kills (395) and aces (30).
In her fourth season, libero Larson-Nummer has continued to be a steady presence in the back row. She surpassed 1,000 career digs this year and currently leads the team in total digs with 270. She has notched double-digit digs in the last 14 matches in a row that she has played, which is the longest streak of her career. Three times this fall she has collected 20 or more digs, including 28 against Oregon State, the highest dig total of any Sun Devil this season.
