Hart Earns AVCA All-Region Honor

BOULDER  — Meegan Hart has been named First-Team Pacific South All-Region, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today.

The award marks the second time Hart has earned All-Region honors. She was selected as an honorable mention for the Pacific South All-Region in 2020.

Hart, a middle blocker from St. Charles, Ill., closed out her final season by leading the Buffs and the Pac-12 in hitting percentage. Hart finished the season with a 0.418 attack percentage, placing her at ninth overall in the NCAA. She hit .450 or better in 16 matches and achieved 10 or more kills in 11 matches. She was third on the team with 278 total kills and averaged 2.44 kills a set.

Defensively, Hart led the Buffs in blocking. A two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player Of The Week of this season, she posted 138 total blocks this year and averaged 1.21 blocks a set. Her blocking contributions helped the Buffs finish 18th in the NCAA and second in the Pac-12 for blocks per set at 2.64.

With the All-Region honor, Hart is now eligible to be selected as an AVCA All-American later this month.

The Buffs closed out the 2022 campaign at 20-11 overall and advanced to the first-round of the NCAA Tournament. The tournament appearance marked the first time that CU has made it into the postseason since 2018.
