Madelyn Robinson Named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Volleyball’s Madelyn Robinson wrapped up her career as a Ute as an honorable mention AVCA All-American. The national honor for the fifth year senior from Highland, Utah marks the seventh consecutive season that a Ute has landed All-American honors.

Robinson becomes the 15th Ute in history to be named an AVCA All-American. Along with this award, Robinson leaves the Utah Volleyball program as a two-time AVCA Pacific South All-Region player and a three-time All-Pac-12 selection in just three years at the U.

Robinson earned the first All-American award of her career after finishing 11th nationally with 4.51 kills per set at the end of the regular season. The Highland, Utah native recorded seven matches of 20 or more kills this year and led Utah in kills in all but two matches that she played in. In her final collegiate season, Robinson improved her kills per set and hitting percentage from her previous season with the Utes.

Robinson posted a career high 28 kills in just four sets against Oregon this season, while she recorded a career-best 18 digs against Milwaukee and career-high six blocks against Oregon State. Robinson tallied 15 or more kills in 17 matches this season and also posted five double-doubles, which was the second most on the team. She recorded double-figure kills in 26 of 28 matches to wrap up her career. Robinson totaled 1,360 career kills, 731 career digs, and 135.5 career blocks over her five years in college.
