Two Gators Garner AVCA All-America Accolades

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two Gators garnered All-America accolades from the American Volleyball Coaches Association, as the organization announced Wednesday.

Marina Markova and Alexis Stucky each found themselves on the AVCA All-America Third Team.

This is the second AVCA All-America honor for Markova, who earned Honorable Mention accolades a season ago at Syracuse.

Stucky becomes just the third Florida freshman to be placed on either the First, Second or Third teams during a rookie campaign, joining Rhamat Alhassan (2014 – Second Team) and Kelly Murphy (2008 – Third Team).

With these two honors, Florida has now racked up 47 players with 132 All-America honors since the 1991 season.

The Gators finished the 2022 season with a 25-6 overall record, making the 29th program appearance in the Regional Semifinal. Florida also clinched its 25th SEC Championship, the most in the league.
