LEXINGTON, Ky., — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 11th annual AVCA Collegiate Beach All-America Teams and four Bruins made the list. UCLA’s pair on court one, Lexy Denaburg and Maggie Boyd, were both named to the First Team while the Bruins’ pair on court two, Abby Van Winkle and Peri Brennan, were both named to the Second Team.

Denaburg and Boyd are the 10th and 11th first team All-Americans in program history. It has been a great ride from start to finish for the Bruins’ dynamic duo. Denaburg and Boyd, 20-6 overall, are 17-6 on court one and opened the season by winning their first 14 matches. They’ve helped No. 1 UCLA down the stretch and enter the NCAA Championship as the top seed. Denaburg picks up her third, First-Team AVCA All-America award. It is the first for the freshman, Boyd.

Van Winkle and Brennan, 27-3 overall, are a perfect 21-0 at the second spot in 2023. Their only losses, which came at No. 1, were to other pairs on this year’s AVCA All-America lists. In addition to being a two-time All-American, Van Winkle became UCLA’s career wins leader (with 126) last weekend. This is the first All-American accolades for Brennan.

The 2023 selections were made by the AVCA Beach Volleyball All-America Committee.
