Kriz and White Earn Third USC Beach Volleyball AVCA/CBVB National Pair of the Week Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – USC beach volleyball graduate Maddi Kriz (Austin, Texas/Round Rock Westwood HS) and Madison White (Scottsdale, Ariz./ASU Preparatory Academy) were named the American Volleyball Coaches Association/CollegeBeachVB.com National Pair of the Week on Monday, May 6.
 
Kriz and White collect the 10th all-time National Pair of the Week honor won by a Trojan duo and secure a school-record third award in 2024. Twin graduates Audrey Nourse (Newport Beach, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) and Nicole Nourse (Newport Beach, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) were chosen for this award last week (April 29). Earlier this spring, All-American seniors Megan Kraft (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) and Delaynie Maple (San Diego, Calif./Torrey Pines HS) were tabbed for the same honor.
 
Kriz-White finished the season 10-3 in 13 matches together. Individually, Kriz moved to 30-7 on the season and concluded her collegiate career with 103 all-time victories, including 73 wins she collected while at Stanford. White improved to 57-15 in two seasons with the Women of Troy and finished the year with a 31-6 record.
 
Paired at the No. 2 position, Kriz and White provided the clinching point in USC’s 3-0 win over North Florida in the opening round by defeating the Ospreys’ Presley Murray and Madison Espy, 21-17, 21-18. The duo did it again in the Trojans’ sweep of ninth-ranked Loyola Marymount in the quarterfinals. There, they took down Isabelle Reffel and Alisha Stevens, 21-17, 21-12, to clinch the match and send USC into the semifinals. In the championship dual, Kriz-White provided the first point in a 3-0 victory over No. 2 UCLA by overcoming a 21-14 loss to Per Brennan and Devon Newberry in the first set to close out a three-set win, 21-19, 15-13, in the second and third sets.
 
The Women of Troy won an unprecedented fourth straight NCAA championship this week to up the program’s total to seven all-time national titles. Top-ranked USC finished the season 37-5 overall and went 4-0 at the championship with an incredible 12-0 mark in individual court play.
