The Muhlenberg volleyball team completed a 2-1 showing at Arcadia’s quad with a 3-0 sweep of the hosts.
With the win, the Mules (8-3) reached the eight-win mark a full two weeks earlier than they did last year.
Muhlenberg got off to a sluggish start in the first set and trailed 20-15 before finishing with a furious comeback. Sophomore Christina Marcin sandwiched two kills around a combined block with junior Brooke Shiver to make it 20-18. After a kill by the Knights, Shiver teamed with senior Isabella Pontrelli for a block, and senior Christina Dalton served back-to-back aces to tie the set at 21-all.
Arcadia scored two of the next three points to make it 23-22, but the Mules ran off the next three points to claim the set. Junior Rachel Jacobs notched a kill and then combined with freshman Sierra Addy for a block, and the set ended on an Arcadia attack error.
Muhlenberg led most of the way in the close second set, winning 25-22, and had a more comfortable third set, clinching its sixth sweep of the season with a 25-15 win.
Marcin led the Mules with 9 kills and added 4 aces. Addy (pictured above) put down 8 kills in just 14 attempts, and Jacobs also recorded 8 kills.
