LORETTO, PA – The Merrimack College Women’s Volleyball team got back to what it is best at with a 4 set road NEC win over Saint Francis.

How It Happened
The sweep is complete as Merrimack beat Saint Francis for the second time this year. When these two teams battled earlier in the year it was a thriller and today Merrimack took the advantage. The first set was tight for much of it but it was quick burst after quick burst that kept the teams close. They each had leads late at one point but the Warriors took the first with a 3 point exclamation mark headlined by a pair of Julz Carlat kills to win the set 25-23.
Set number two was similar in that both teams kept it close but it was MC with the leg up for the most part. Merrimack scored the second, third, and fourth point of the set and would never end up giving up the lead to the Red Flash. Saint Francis gave them a run for their money late making it a 24-21 lead by MC but the Warriors would finish it off 25-21 and take a two sets to none lead.
The third set came and the Warriors were smelling blood in the water going for a 3-0 set sweep and leaving Loretto with a major win. Saint Francis had other plans and this set was not particularly close. A pair of big runs catapulted the Red Flash past the Warriors as they secured a 25-16 set three win and drawing ever closer to forcing a fifth set.
