MADISON, Wis. – Senior Sarah Franklin of the Wisconsin volleyball team was named Big Ten Player of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday afternoon.
The six-foot-four outside hitter helped the Badgers (20-1, 11-1 B1G) to a 2-0 weekend with sweeps over Michigan State and Minnesota. In six sets, Franklin averaged 6.33 kills/set for a total of 38 kills, 21 alone against Minnesota, in the two matches. Against Minnesota, Franklin hit a season-best .455 (21-1-44), and hit .474 (38-2-76) in the two matches.
In addition to her offensive power, Franklin added nine digs, five blocks, and tallied three service aces.
This marks the second Big Ten Player of the Week honors this season for Franklin. She received the same honor on Oct. 16 for her performances against Rutgers and Maryland.
