Sada Cruzeiro has kicked off their title defense in the 2023/24 Men’s Volleyball Superliga with an impressive victory. In their opening match at the Riacho gymnasium in Contagem, they faced Sesi SP and emerged with a commanding 3-0 win. The team showcased their dominance right from the start, winning the sets with scores of 25-19, 25-22, and 25-20.
This victory marks a significant beginning for the Minas Gerais team in the prestigious Brazilian Bet7k Men’s Superliga.
The match was highlighted by the exceptional performance of Cuban outside hitter Miguel Angel López, who not only was Sada’s top scorer with 12 points but also earned the VivaVôlei Trophy for being the best player on the court.
Supporting López were also Rodrigo Leão (Rodriguinho) and Wallace de Souza, each contributing 11 points to the team’s tally. On the opposing side, Sesi’s Maicon Leite also put up a commendable fight, scoring 12 points. However, it wasn’t enough to challenge the might of Sada Cruzeiro.
