AVCA 2023 final poll: Juniata, Hope and sort the rest

Burns promoted from assistant to head coach at Rockford

The top two teams met in the final, and eight of the top 11 made the national quarterfinals, so the AVCA final poll didn’t require much adjusting from the previous one Nov. 14.

National champion Juniata and runner-up Hope are followed in the final poll by No. 3 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, No. 4 NYU — both of which advanced to the national semifinals.

Rounding out the top 10 are the remaining teams that reached the Elite Eight in No. 5 Wisconsin-Oshkosh, No. 6 Northwestern, No. 7 Johns Hopkins and No. 8 Trinity (Texas) along with regional finalists Emory and Wisconsin-Whitewater at Nos. 9 and 10, respectively.

Other Region VIII and Region IX programs in the final top 25: No. 11 Transylvania; No. 14 Washington-St. Louis; No. 16 Gustavus Adolphus; No. 21 North Park; No. 22 Mount St. Joseph; No. 23 Wisconsin-Stevens Point; No. 25 Cornell.

Region VIII/IX receiving votes in the final poll: Millikin; St. Olaf; Wisconsin-Platteville.

My final top 10 had the same teams in a similar order (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Wisconsin-Oshkosh flipped in the third and fifth spots in addition to Emory and Wisconsin-Whitewater swapped at nine and 10).
