SEATTLE — One of the biggest weeks of the season for Husky Volleyball is at hand as Washington travels out to visit 14th-ranked Minnesota this Thursday, Nov. 7, before heading straight back home for a potential attendance record-breaker against 2nd-ranked Nebraska on Saturday, Nov. 9. Just four weeks remain in the regular season as the Huskies, at 17-5 overall and 7-5 in Big Ten play, try to get their game in peak form and add some huge wins to their resume.

Thursday’s match in Minneapolis will start at 5 p.m. Pacific time and stream online via Big Ten Plus. Saturday night, Nebraska visits Alaska Airlines Arena for the first time since 2014 for a 7:30 p.m. first serve that will be broadcast on Big Ten Network. Washington’s program attendance record of 8,646 from a 2014 match against Stanford will be in jeopardy on Saturday night.

The Dawgs currently sit in 8th-place in the Big Ten and are 31st in the RPI. Last week they earned their first ranked win in Head Coach Leslie Gabriel‘s tenure, upsetting then-No. 10 Oregon. But leading attacker Kierstyn Barton suffered an injury late in that match and missed UW’s next match at then-No. 21 USC, where the Huskies had their four-match win streak snapped.

Washington will go up against former head coach Keegan Cook and his Gophers squad in their first visit to Minnesota in 13 years. Minnesota is in a three-way tie for fourth in Big Ten play at 9-3, and has won four in a row, coming off road wins at Michigan State and Michigan. Minnesota is fifth in the league with a .260 attack percentage, and is holding opponents to .201. Julia Hanson leads Minnesota in conference matches with 3.59 kills per set, hitting .302, with Lydia Grote, younger sister of former Husky Marin Grote, adding 3.27 kills per set hitting .258. Phoebe Awoleye is the leading blocker in Big Ten play with 1.76 blocks per set.

Nebraska is a perfect 12-0 in Big Ten play and 22-1…
