ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — The Lewis University men’s volleyball team was voted to finish fourth in the 2025 MIVA Preseason Poll as voted on by the coaches, the league office announced Tuesday (Dec. 17). Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) and Nico Paula (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) were named to the Preseason All-MIVA Team after the duo were named All-MIVA last season.
The Flyers are coming off a season where they went 15-15 and 8-8 in conference play and made it to the MIVA Tournament.
Roquet, who was named First Team All-MIVA last season as well as receiving AVCA All-American honors after seeing action in 29 contests with 28 starts. He recorded 406 kills, which led the MIVA, 3.63 kills/set (sixth in MIVA) and picked up a .305 attack percentage (12th in MIVA), leading all Flyers.
Paula was honored with All-MIVA First Team honors in 2024 as well after ranking second in the conference in total digs with 225 and tied for the lead in digs/set (2.08).
