Three Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

TEMPE – Representing Sun Devil Volleyball, graduates Claire Jeter, Mary Shroll and Argentina Ung all earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-District after a strong season on both the court and in the classroom.

This is the second CSC academic nod for Shroll and the first for Jeter and Ung. It is the third year in a row Arizona State has had two or more earning all-district honors. ASU has had at least one all-district honoree in each of the last four seasons.

Student-athletes that are at least a sophomore academically and athletically are eligible to be nominated when they have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and for graduate students it must be 3.50 for both undergraduate and graduate. Additionally, they must compete in 90 percent of the set or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution’s total matches.

Graduate middle blocker Claire Jeter wrapped up her fourth and final season in Tempe on a high note. Her efficiency was off the charts, hitting. 426 for the best clip in a single season in ASU history. She earned 262 kills (third on the team) and 106 blocks (second on the team). She totaled 379 block assists while at ASU, which is first in the Arizona State record book. She earned AVCA All-District and All-Big 12 First Team honors. Jeter will graduate with her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership in May.

On defense, graduate libero Mary Shroll led the charge all year. She finished the year with 522 digs and had double-digit digs in all but two matches all season. Her dig total is the most by a Sun Devil since 2019. She was the Big 12 Libero of the Year, AVCA All-District, and All-Big 12 First Team. This month, Shroll graduated with a master’s of science in business analytics with a specialization in marketing analytics.

Pacing the offense all season was graduate setter Argentina Ung, who was a grad transfer for Arizona State. Ung made an impact, helping ASU hit .272 on the year, top 20 in the nation for hitting percentage. Ung dished out 1,131 assists and surpassed 3,000 career assists this season. She was the Big 12 Setter of the Year, AVCA All-District, and All-Big 12 First Team. Ung gradauted this month with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies.
