CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District honors were announced by the organization on Tuesday. Averie Hernandez, Raegen Reilly and Cari Bohm earned the honor, the first for each of the Illini players.
Hernandez joined the Illini for her junior campaign and made an immediate impact on the Illini program. The outside hitter finished the year second on the team with 291 kills and 2.55 kills per set. Hernandez posted double-digit kills in 13 matches, pacing the squad in a pair of contests. A threat defensively as well, the six-rotation pin added five double-digit dig matches and a pair of double-doubles. Hernandez is currently majoring in communications.
Reilly played in every match this season for the Fighting Illini. The setter finished the year with 112 total assists and eight service aces. Coming up in big moments, the South Dakota native recorded a season high nine assists while adding an ace against then-ranked #7 Wisconsin. Reilly is pursuing her master’s in management.
Bohm started all 31 matches for the Orange and Blue in 2024, finishing second on the team with 114 total blocks and 1.00 blocks per set. The middle blocker posted five or more blocks on 11 different occasions including a season-best nine blocks at WKU. Bohm is currently majoring in management.
