Beach Dawgs Add To 2025 Roster

SEATTLE — Washington beach volleyball head coach Derek Olson has announced the addition of Karolína Majerníková to the roster for the 2025 season. A native of Slovakia, Majerníková becomes the third international recruit for the 2025 roster, bringing an impressive resume of accomplishments.

Majerníková has played for the Slovak national team and competed in the European Championships. She is a six-time national champion and a two-time Junior Beach Volleyball Player of the Year. In a remarkable accomplishment, Majerníková captured national titles in three different age categories within the same year, calling it her “title hat trick.” Outside of volleyball, Majerníková enjoys hiking, skiing and crocheting.

“I chose the University of Washington because it’s the perfect place to grow as an athlete and student,” Majerníková said. “I’m looking forward to pushing my limits alongside my talented teammates, learning from incredible coaches and experiencing life in Seattle. It’s the perfect place to chase my dreams on and off the sand.”

Olson expressed his excitement about Majerníková joining the team.

“Karolína is coming to us from Slovakia, and we are excited to see what she can bring to the team,” Olson said. “She is a dynamic split blocker who has good skills. We really like the way that she approaches her training and the way she has been preparing for her arrival in Seattle. She’s genuine and has been very respectful in the conversations that we’ve had.”

“We have had success recruiting internationally in the past, and we expect her to jump right in and, once settled, be a major contributor for us.”

The Huskies will open the 2025 season on Feb. 21-22 in Tampa, Florida. The full schedule will be announced at a later date.
