The 44th Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship is just around the corner. Come December, the top teams across the nation will participate in regional matchups, culminating in a final tournament to determine the national champion.
Tournament schedule and dates
This year’s Championship is much like those of other years. It starts with a selection show to be held on Dec. 1, where the tournament bracket will be revealed, and the 64 participating teams will be announced. The first and second regional rounds will take place from Dec. 5 to 7 on college campuses across the nation. The regional finals will then run from Dec. 12 to 15th.
From there, the top four teams will move on to the nationwide semi-finals to be held on Dec. 19. The ultimate showdown of the National Championship will take place on Dec. 22. This leg of the tournament will be held at the KYC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
Here’s a breakdown of the tournament schedule:
- Selection show – Sunday, Dec. 1
- First and second rounds – Thursday, Dec. 5 to Saturday, Dec. 7
- Regionals – Thursday, Dec. 12 to Sunday, Dec. 15
- Semi-finals – Thursday, Dec. 19
