Ally Hickey Named GLVC Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week; Awarded All-Midwest Region Tournament Team Honors


INDIANAPOLIS — The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced Monday (Oct. 21) that graduate student Ally Hickey (Granger, Ind./Penn) was named GLVC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance at the NCAA DII Midwest Region Crossover Tournament this past weekend (Oct. 18-19). In addition to being named Defensive Player of the Week, Hickey was awarded All-Midwest Region Tournament team by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for her efforts in the tournament. 

Hickey started in all three matches over the weekend as the Flyers went 2-1 on Friday and Saturday. The libero recorded 73 total digs, 6.1 digs per set and tallied 16 total assists. 

The Flyers resume action in Great Lakes Valley Conference play Saturday, October 26 as the Flyers travel to Indianapolis, Ind. to take on the Indianapolis Greyhounds starting at 2 p.m. CT.
