The Latvian Volleyball Federation (LVF) held the awarding ceremony for the country’s best athletes of 2023 at Splendid Palace in Riga on Saturday, January 13.
The awards were presented in 12 categories and lifetime achievement awards, as well as appreciation awards for volleyball promoters.
Andrejs Filipavičs, who helped the Latvian men’s team achieve its greatest success of sixth place at the European Championship, received the award for best sitting volleyball player from Latvia women’s volleyball coach Daniele Caprioti.
Filipavičs notable performances include victories in the Men’s Silver Nations League and the Baltic League, a second place finish at the European Beach ParaVolley, where he shares the first and second places in the European players’ ranking.
