SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Volleyball Head Coach Beth Launiere has elevated Andrew Clark, naming him the Utes’ third full-time assistant coach on staff heading into the 2024 season.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to have Andrew on our staff as an Assistant Coach,” Launiere said. “He has been with our program for two years and has demonstrated his value through his great work ethic, technical expertise, and passion for the team and program. We look forward to adding his knowledge of the game to our staff as a coach, and having his role increase in the area of teaching and training our players. He is well respected within the program and has earned this position.”
In his new role, Clark will focus on working with the Utah middle blockers and elevating the Utes’ blocking system. Leaning on his expertise from his time as technical coordinator, Clark will be involved in scouting opponents and creating video breakdowns for the team. While also continuing his responsibilities as a technical director in charge of video and statistics, Clark will create training demonstrations for the Utah program.
“I couldn’t be more excited to accept this position and expand my role here at Utah,” said Clark. “This is an exciting time for the program and I can’t wait to get to work with such an amazing group of athletes and an incredible staff to continue building something special. I am grateful to Beth for the opportunity and look forward to learning from one of the great leaders in our sport.”
Clark joined the Utah staff in February 2022 as a volunteer assistant coach, helping facilitate drills during training sessions and giving technical feedback to athletes. He was quickly brought on in a full-time capacity, as the Utes Technical Director by August of the same year. In this role, Clark developed team scouts weekly for the Utah Volleyball program. Having mastered the Volleystation program, Clark provided real-time analytics to the Utah coaching staff, helping to analyze and bolster team performance.
Clark began his coaching journey in 2019 with Club GSL in Sandy, Utah, where he coached boys and girls from 14u to 18u. Under Clark’s tutelage at Club GSL, six players earned college commitments at the 17u level in 2024, including five NCAA Division I commits. This was the most of any Utah club in this age group.
