BOULDER, Colo. – The Wildcats swept the Buffaloes (25-20, 25-21, 25-18) on Thursday night to extend their win streak to four matches.
Arizona’s offense hit .275 and the defense totaled 10 blocks to hold Colorado to a .099 hitting percentage. Jaelyn Hodge had 14 kills and Jordan Wilson added 12 kills to lead the attack. Journey Tucker led the defense with six blocks and Hodge had five.
Arizona won the opening set, 25-20. The Cats hit .344 and Hodge led the attack with six kills. Wilson followed with four kills and a block assist to help Arizona’s defense total four blocks in the set. Kiari Robey led the Cats with three blocks to help hold Colorado to a .111 clip.
The Cats took Set 2, 25-21. Hodge and Wilson both contributed five kills while Carlie Cisneros had three kills. Although Colorado had 2.5 blocks in the second set, Arizona out-hit the Buffaloes to take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Arizona won the third set, 25-18, to complete the sweep. Arizona’s attack was balanced with just four Cats tallying kills. Alayna Johnson led the team with four kills while Hodge and Wilson had three kills each. Tucker added two kills and led the defense with four blocks. Arizona served three aces in the set – including an ace from Johnson to win the match.
The Wildcats will return home to host Iowa State on Saturday, November 23 for senior day.
