Arizona Swept by No. 15 Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Wildcats were swept by No. 15 Washington on Sunday afternoon in Seattle.
 
Arizona’s offense hit .321 and was led by Jaelyn Hodge with nine kills. Alayna Johnson recorded eight kills with a .636 clip and three blocks.
 
Washington won the first set, 25-16. The Huskies took an early lead that the Wildcats couldn’t come back from. Zyonna Fellows had three kills to lead Arizona in the first set.  
 
The Huskies took a two-set lead with a 25-22 second-set win. Arizona held the lead for most of the set, but Washington took the lead halfway through the set. The Wildcats were able to keep the set close but couldn’t regain the lead. Johnson had five kills and two blocks in the set followed by Hodge with four kills.
 
Arizona fell in the third set, 15-25. The Huskies carried their momentum from the second set and took a large lead in the third set to keep Arizona at bay. Arizona hit .318 in the set and Hodge had three kills but Washington served seven aces to overcome the Wildcats.
 
The Wildcats return home next weekend to host Oregon and Oregon State on Oct. 28 and Oct. 30 in McKale Center.
