ASIAN INTERNATIONAL REFEREE CANDIDATE COURSE IN OMAN ENDS ON HIGH NOTE

The Asian International Referee Candidate Course in Sultanate of Oman came to a successful conclusion on Tuesday, with 19 candidates from seven countries including three females passing the theoretical and practical tests given by FIVB Referee Instructor & FIVB Referee Coach Mr Waleed Abdelsamad from Egypt, himself CAVB Refereeing Commission Member and Technical Secretary of QVA Refereeing Commission.

Mr Sheikh Ahmad Albloushi, Vice Governor of Sohar City, and Dr Tarek Mohamed Aly, Executive Director of Oman Volleyball Association, jointly presided over the certificate presentation and closing ceremony of the one-week course, which started on Wednesday, January 24.

The course, which was aimed at increasing the quality of the referees, making them get through to the philosophy of refereeing and mutually providing them valuable experience and training opportunities, had attracted a total of 19 candidates  (as follows) to participate and all of them passed the exams to receive the certificates on Tuesday.

This was a great opportunity for all candidates to improve their refereeing knowledge through the expertise of FIVB Referee Instructor & FIVB Referee Coach Mr Waleed Abdelsamad. The course was a combination of theory and practical information focusing on the refereeing techniques, drills and skills.

According to Mr Waleed, the course ran smoothly and successfully from start to finish. The commitment of the participants and the variety of their backgrounds were satisfactory as everyone took the work required seriously and invested heavily in both theory and practical aspects.
