Bangkok, Thailand, September 20, 2022 – The third edition of the CEV Coaches Convention from September 16 to 18 in Skopje, North Macedonia came to an end on Sunday, inspiring coaches and teachers from around the world.
Interesting and thought-provoking panel discussions with speakers John Kessel from the USA and Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai from Thailand, himself former long-time head coach of Thailand national women’s volleyball team, current AVC Secretary General and FIVB and AVC Board of Administration Member, took place at the conference hall of the Aleksander Palace in Skopje.
After an exciting first day of the convention, with more than 160 attendees enjoying both the practical and theoretical sessions, Sunday provided the speakers with the opportunity to engage and interact more with the coaches.
The participants took the floor on several occasions, explaining what the challenges they are facing are. On the other hand, based on their wide experience, the event speakers shared ideas on how to solve some problems and how to approach inconvenient and difficult to deal with matters, giving the Asian and the North American perspective.
“Have fun, try to stay positive! We all love Volleyball, and don’t forget that sometimes, small changes can create big differences in your lives both personally and professionally!”, Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai
“Thank you for coming here! The fact that you are at the Convention says a lot about you and your motivation to become better. You are the future of European Volleyball!” John Kessel
After the end of the official program, the sharing of knowledge and insights continued in an informal setup. Through improvised breakout sessions, the speakers organised attendees in groups, looking together for answers on how to better promote Volleyball on a local level, and how to engage more actors in the growth of the sport.
The coaches and the teachers are going home, bringing a brand-new perspective on the Development of Volleyball, and as asked by speakers Kessel and Kiattipong, will reflect on important questions such as: “Why do I coach Volleyball?” and “Why do I love the game?”.
