AVC VOLLEYBALL FEDERATION MANAGEMENT COURSE UNDERWAY IN THAILAND

Bangkok, Thailand, December 12, 2023 – The AVC Volleyball Federation Management Course is currently underway at FIVB Development Center in Bangkok, with 16 candidates from 11 National Federations actively participating.

 

The highly-value seminar from December 12 to 15 is conducted by Honorary Life Vice President and Executive Director of Asian Volleyball Confederation Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, a very experienced lecturer with an extensive background in all areas of the volleyball business, administration and organization and the first International Volleyball Hall of Fame inductee to ever come from Southeast Asia. 

Thailand Volleyball Association President Mr Somporn Chaibangyang on Tuesday presided over the opening of the four-day course at the FIVB Development Center.

 

Also in attendance were Mr Songsak Chareonpong, Chairman of the AVC Referees Committee, and Mr Issara Riddhisinha, General Manager of the FIVB Development Center in Thailand.

Candidates from the United Arab Emirates, Mongolia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Laos, Maldives, Kuwait, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand attended the course. Among the widely-known candidates were TVA Secretary General Mr Nattapong Kesapan and Mr Raditia Rahmat Darwis from Indonesia, himself Member of the AVC Sport Events Council.

TVA President Mr Somporn delivered a welcome speech to all participants and expressed his congratulations to Mr Shanrit on his great accomplishment in life when he was inducted into the International Volleyball Hall of Fame in the class of “Leader” on October 21, 2023 in Holyoke, Massachusetts, the United States of America.

“I would like to welcome all candidates from 11 National Federations to the AVC Volleyball Federation Management Course at the FIVB Development Center here in Bangkok. With the help of this course, all candidates will get better when performing your daily tasks in your Federations. I also strongly hope that all of you will have an excellent opportunity to learn some new management and organising skills under the guidance of Course Instructor Mr Shanrit Wongprasert. After this course, I believe, all candidates will return with an extensive knowledge of event management as well as plenty of ideas to implement once you take up the challenge of organising an international volleyball competition,” Mr Somporn was quoted as saying in his speech.
