Badgers to Attend Big Ten Volleyball Media Days


MADISON, Wis. – Head Coach Kelly Sheffield, Sarah Franklin and Devyn Robinson of the Wisconsin Volleyball team will be in attendance for the third annual Big Ten Volleyball Media Days at the Big Ten Network studios in Chicago on Monday, August 5.

Wisconsin is scheduled to participate on Day 1 of the event on August 5. Other teams on that date are Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Penn State, and Rutgers.

This marks the second time the 2023 AVCA National Player of the Year, Sarah Franklin will be in attendance at the Big Ten Media Days. Franklin attended in it’s inaugural year back in 2022. The six-foot-four outside hitter is coming off her best season yet, earning AVCA First Team All-American honors, Big Ten Player of the Year and AVCA Northeast Regional Player of the Year. Franklin recently attended and was nominated for an ESPY in the category for Best College Athlete, Women’s Sports. She is just the third athlete in Badger athletics to be nominated for an ESPY as a current student-athlete and the only female to ever be nominated.

Fifth year senior Devyn Robinson will also be attendance at this years Media Days. The three-time All-American was at last’s years Media Days, assisting in social media for Big Ten Volleyball. In 2023, Robinson earned AVCA Honorable Mention All-American honors, and reached the 1,000 career kills milestone on December 9 vs. Oregon. She also ranked third on the team with 2.43 kills per set, and tied a career-high 21 kills at Arkansas a season ago.

Monday’s rotations are set for the afternoon with a full slate of media appearances. The Badgers will have numerous interviews on the Big Ten Network and various other media outlets.
