BEACH VOLLEYBALL HEADS TO CALIFORNIA FOR EAST VS WEST INVITATIONAL

Tallahassee, Fla. – The No. 4 ranked Florida State Seminoles (21-2) will travel to Manhattan Beach, Calif. To participate in the East vs. West Tournament on March 31 and April 1. The Noles will take on No. 8 Hawaii, No. 3 USC, No. 2 UCLA, and No. 7 Loyola Marymount. FSU enters this tournament after an undefeated weekend at the LSU invitational going 5-0.

 

The Seminoles will start play on Friday with a match against No. 8 Hawaii (20-3) at 2:30 p.m. ET. The two teams have not met since 2019 at the East vs. West Tournament where the Noles took the win 3-2. Florida State currently leads the all-time series 8-4. Hawaii is coming off an undefeated weekend in the Big West Challenge with a notable win against No. 12 Long Beach State.

 

The first day will conclude with a match against No. 3 USC (13-1) at 6:30 p.m. ET. The Noles have not faced USC yet this season. The last meeting came in 2022 in the NCAA Championship game in Gulf Shores, Ala. where the Noles suffered a heartbreaking 3-1 defeat. USC is coming off an impressive weekend at the Surf and Turf Invitational, notching wins against No. 15 FAU and No. 14 FIU, while their only loss of the weekend was to No. 1 TCU.

 

Saturday will start with another top-five matchup with a match against No. 2 UCLA (18-1) at 1:30 p.m. ET. These two teams met last weekend at the March to May Tournament where UCLA edged out the Noles 3-2. UCLA went undefeated at the March to May Tournament where they won matches against four ranked teams.

 

The Tournament will end with the Noles taking on No. 7 Loyola Marymount (16-1) at 4:00 p.m. ET. The Noles lead the series 8-1 and have not met since 2022 at the NCAA Championships where Florida State took the win 3-2. LMU is coming off an undefeated weekend at the West Coast Challenge going 5-0.
