Bison sweep Gators on the road


BALTIMORE – The Gallaudet University women’s volleyball team swept Notre Dame of Maryland University here Wednesday in a non-conference match.

Gallaudet (4-5) won 25-21, 25-18, 25-19 as it served up 11 aces in the mid-week victory.

Junior opposite Emily Wright (Penn Valley, Calif.) led the way with nine kills while fellow junior setter Emma Giuntoli (Austin, Texas) passed out 17 assists and made seven digs and four aces. 

Junior defensive specialist Leila Sicoli (Austin, Texas) recorded a match-high 16 digs as freshman outside hitter Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) made 13 digs to go with eight kills and two aces.

Junior middle hitter Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) and sophomore Hannah Weiss (Riverside, Calif.) finished with six kills each. 

Notre Dame (2-5) was paced by Rosemary O’Brien’s seven kills as Emma Mueller tallied 14 assists and five kills.

  • Freshman Gisella Visco (Riverside, Calif.) served up three aces
  • Freshman Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) had eight digs and one ace

UP NEXT
Gallaudet will participate in the Knight Invitational hosted by Neumann University this weekend. The Bison begin the tournament against Gettysburg College on Friday night at 6 p.m.
