IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata men’s volleyball team dropped their home match against Elizabethtown on Tuesday night by a score of 3-0. The Macs drop to a 0-4 record in Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC) play following the match.
After owning an early 6-3 lead in set one, the Macs and Blue Jays went back-and-forth with the lead until the match stood at 16-16. The Blue Jays then went on a 5-2 rally to claim the lead, not looking back as they took set one 25-21.
Set two found the Macs within striking distance as the score stood 17-15 in favor of the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays, however, went on a six-point run to regain a strong lead as they took the match by a score of 25-17. A similar story happened in set three as the Macs were down 14-13 before a seven-point run by the Blue Jays sealed the deal. The Blue Jays secured the series sweep with a 25-17 final in set three.
John Bohrer led the Macs on the day with seven kills while Joe Martell recorded 17 assists. Defensively, Garrett Pepper and John Carter each recorded six digs while Steven Dao earned two blocks.
The Macs return to action next Tuesday as they host Rutgers-Newark in a 7:00 P.M. CVC matchup.
