JACKSON, Mich. – The Taylor volleyball team took a haul of awards from the Crossroads League on Tuesday, picking up six All-CL honors on the heels of the program’s finest season since 2011.

Kacy Bragg and Stephaney Fifield highlighted the accolades as the CL’s Setter and CL’s Libero of the Year. Bragg and Fifield were joined by Amanda Adams as First-Team All-Crossroads League performers, with Ryan Czerniak earning a Second-Team All-CL honor, Grace Isaacs earning Honorable Mention All-CL attention and Sarah Scott taking a spot on the Crossroads League All-Freshmen Team.

Those six student-athletes each played pivotal roles in Taylor posting a 27-7 overall record and a 14-4 league clip, marking the program’s best records since the 2011 campaign. Along the way, TU went 13-1 inside Odle Arena with wins in its final 10 home matches and recorded four victories over teams ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA Top-25 Poll.

The statistics paint an even clearer pictures of TU’s success in 2021, as the program’s 13.7 kills per set ranked No. 12 in the NAIA and its 12.9 assists per set closed the regular season at No. 10 in the nation. TU posted its best kills-per-set mark since 2007 and its hitting percentage of .222 was the program’s best since the aforementioned 2011 campaign.

Taylor’s steady offense revolved around Bragg, who was named the Crossroads League Setter of the Year in her third season with the Purple and Gold. The junior earned her third All-CL honor in as many years and is the first TU player to earn CL Setter-of-the-Year recognition since Haley Harrell in 2016.

Bragg posted her finest season in Upland with career-highs of 1,278 assists, 338 digs and 21.5 blocks to go with 109 kills and 30 aces. The Warsaw, Indiana native earned six CL Setter-of-the-Week awards during the 2021 season and closed the regular season ranked No. 4 in the NAIA in total assists and No. 12 with 11.3 assists per game. Those numbers helped Bragg climb into TU’s top-10 with 2,740 career assists, which is also the program’s sixth-best total in the rally-scoring era.

For as important to the attack as Bragg was, Fifield was equally as vital to Taylor’s defense on her way to Crossroads League Libero-of-the-Year honors. The junior claimed her third All-CL nod, with her first two awards coming during her time in a Spring Arbor…
