JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League released its latest installment of weekly awards, in which TU senior, Kacy Bragg, was honored with her sixth setter-of-the-seek award in 2022.

Bragg has persisted in her remarkable play on the court this season, gathering six weekly awards after a 2021 season in which she received six more en route to being named the Crossroads League Setter of the Year.

Her latest award came in the wake of an undefeated week for the No. 12 Taylor (24-5, 13-2 CL) volleyball team, throughout which Bragg averaged 10.60 assists-per-set alongside 2.60 digs, 1.30 kills, and 0.50 blocks-per-set.

TU’s senior native of Warsaw, Indiana, was a master of consistency throughout the week, posting 31 assists in each of Taylor’s three-set sweeps against Mount Vernon Nazarene (24-6, 9-6 CL) and Huntington (14-15, 7-8 CL). Bragg placed those assists in tandem with an average of 4.50 kills and 9.0 digs-per-match in Taylor’s first two wins of the week.

Bragg, then, unleashed a remarkable performance in Taylor’s big win over No. 17 Indiana Wesleyan (20-6, 11-4 CL) on the road, a match in which the Trojan setter filled the scorebook with a deluge of numbers. In the week’s finale, Bragg recorded 44 assists, alongside four kills, four aces, eight digs, and a pair of blocks, fueling the Trojans to their first season sweep of IWU since 2010.

Furthermore, Bragg’s 44-assist performance against the Wildcats marked the 15th time she has posted 40-or-more assists in a single match in 2022. Bragg leads the entire NAIA with 1,148 total assists and sits eighth in the nation with a season average of 10.93 assists-per-set.

With Bragg’s latest award in stow, Taylor volleyball now holds 11 of Taylor’s 19 total weekly awards received thus far in the 2022-2023 athletic year.

No. 12 Taylor (24-5, 13-2 CL) returns to the court on Wednesday, October 26, when Bragg and the Trojans host their final home match of the regular season against Saint Francis (14-17, 7-8 CL) at 7:00 pm. Taylor will look to improve to its record inside Odle Arena in 2022 to a perfect 13-0.
