Bragg Pockets Fourth Player-of-the-Week Award in 2022

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its latest installment of weekly awards on Monday, in which TU senior, Kacy Bragg, was honored with her fourth Setter-of-the-Week award in 2022.

After receiving six weekly awards in 2021 and one in 2020, Bragg now boasts a collection of 11 player-of-the-week awards for her career.

Bragg’s latest award comes in recognition of a weekly performance in which the Warsaw, Indiana, native moved into fifth place in TU program history by boosting her career-assist total to 3,711. Though the Trojan setter averaged an impressive 11.73 assists-per-set throughout Taylor’s three-match week, Bragg was dynamic in several facets of the game.

Alongside her strong assist numbers, Bragg posted 1.27 kills-per-set and maintained a .367 hitting percentage on offense, while averaging 2.64 digs-per-set and 0.73 blocks-per-set on defense.

Taylor’s first match of the week took shape as a win over Goshen, a match in which Bragg executed seven kills, 10 digs and three blocks alongside a total of 43 assists, all while failing to record a single error.

Though her strongest assist-performance unfolded throughout Taylor’s second match of the week, an especially meaningful four-set defeat of No. 17 Marian in which Bragg posted 56 assists. Bragg’s effort against Marian on Friday marked the third time in 2022 that she has surpassed the 50-assist mark in a single match.

With Bragg’s latest award in stow, Taylor volleyball now holds nine of Taylor’s 14 total weekly awards received thus far in the 2022-2023 athletic year.

No. 13 Taylor (19-5, 8-2 CL) returns to the court on Wednesday, October 5, when Bragg and the Trojans host Spring Arbor (10-11, 1-9 CL) for a 7:00 pm matchup inside Odle Arena.
