Bruins Bounce Back, Sweep Sun Devils

TEMPE, Ariz. – The UCLA women’s volleyball team hit for a .327 hitting percentage with three Bruins (7-7, 1-4 Pac-12) reaching double-figure kills in its straight-set sweep (25-15, 25-18, 25-21) against Arizona State at Desert Financial Arena on Friday night.
 
élan McCall recorded her third consecutive double-double with a team-high 11 kills at a blistering .500 along with 11 digs. McCall also aced the Sun Devils (8-9, 2-3 Pac-12) three times.
 
Coming off a career-high 22 kills in her last match, outside hitter Iman Ndiaye matched McCall with 11 kills of her own at .381. Charitie Luper was a defensive stalwart with 13 digs and three block assists to go along with her 11 kills.
 
Middle blockers Anna Dodson and Francesca Alupei were both operating at a high rate with 13 combined kills at .500. Matti McKissock tallied 39 assists at a .448 set percentage.

UCLA hit for .440 in the first set and sided out on all but one of Arizona State’s 16 serve attempts.
 
Five separate Bruins racked up multiple kills in the frame, led my Dodson with four on just five swings. Alupei helped put the set away with two kills and a block assist in UCLA’s final four points.
 
The Sun Devils were limited to just eight kills and six attack…
