Bruins Reverse Sweep California – UCLA

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women’s volleyball team rallied from a 0-2 deficit to reverse sweep California, 3-2, at Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom on Thursday night, stretching its winning streak to four matches.
 
Set scores were 23-25, 15-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-8.
 
élan McCall scored a team-high 17 kills for the Bruins (14-10, 8-7 Pac-12) while Charitie Luper and Anna Dodson tallied 15 and 14 kills, respectively. Matti McKissock racked up 53 assists, one shy of her season high.
 
The Golden Bears’ (7-18, 0-15 Pac-12) Lydia Grote recorded a career-high 28 kills at a .299 clip. In sets one and two, California hit for a combined .343 but fell off at .120 in the final three frames.
 
A service error by California late in set three put McCall at the service line with UCLA up 21-18. McCall dealt two aces in the serving rotation while Iman Ndiaye picked up two kills, including set point. Up until the third set, Ndiaye was hitting in the negative.
 
Freshman Grayce Olson, who subbed into sets one, two and three, got the start heading into the fourth. She took advantage of that opportunity with four kills on seven swings, including a kill to put set point on the line, 24-21. An attack error by Grote – her third of the set – led to a…
