Buckeyes Host Rutgers for Pink Match and Buckeye Club Appreciation – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team (10-5, 6-1 B1G) hosts Rutgers (7-12, 1-6 B1G) on Saturday evening in the first of four-consecutive home matches for the Buckeyes. First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. in a match broadcast on B1G+.

Saturday’s match will be the pink match and Buckeye Club appreciation. The Buckeyes will host a post-match meet and greet on the east concourse.

  • Ohio State was ranked sixth in the AVCA poll for the third-consecutive week.
  • Ohio State enters the match with a 10-5 overall record and a 6-1 record in Big Ten play, which is good for second in the conference.
  • The Buckeyes earned their fourth top-10 win of the season (second top-10 sweep) at No. 10 Minnesota (25-20, 25-21, 25-22) on Wednesday night.
  • Senior outside hitter Gabby Gonzales recorded her 1,000th career kill in the victory against the Gophers.
  • This season, the Buckeyes have three hitters averaging at least three kills per set (Emily Londot – 3.82, Gonzales – 3.24, Jenaisya Moore – 3.00) and Kylie Murr (3.93 digs/set) leading four players with at least two digs per set.
  • Rutgers holds an overall record of 7-12 and a 1-6 mark in Big Ten matches.
  • The Scarlet Knights are coming off a straight-set loss (16-25, 24-26, 17-25) at Illinois on Wednesday night.
  • Rutgers’ lone win of the conference season was a five-set victory (17-25, 25-27, 25-13, 25-20, 15-7) against Michigan State during opening weekend.
  • The Scarlet Knights are 0-2 against ranked opponents this season after getting swept by No. 3 Nebraska (13-25, 7-25, 15-25) and No. 5 Purdue (22-25, 20-25, 13-25) in back-to-back matches.
  • Ohio State leads the all-time series 16-1 against Rutgers, including a 6-0 record when facing the Scarlet Knights in Columbus.
  • Last season, the Buckeyes earned sweeps at home (25-13, 25-20, 25-6) on Oct. 16 and on the road (25-16, 25-19, 25-17) on Nov. 24.
  • Ohio State holds a 14-match win streak as Rutgers’ lone victory came at a neutral site on Sept. 12, 1981.
