Card Extends Pac-12 Win Streak

STANFORD, Calif. – Behind a balanced attack, No. 3 Stanford swept USC, 25-22, 25-14, 25-14, Friday, at Maples Pavilion, to extend its Pac-12 win streak to 25.

The Cardinal (14-2, 7-0 Pac-12) hit .402 as a team, while holding USC (11-6, 5-2 Pac-12) to a .112 clip. Stanford also played gritty defense, racking up 46 digs, five blocks and five aces, while forcing the Trojans to hit .000 in both the second and third sets.

Outside hitter Caitie Baird hit .462 with a match-high 12 kills on 26 errorless swings. Opposite Kendall Kipp also notched 12 kills on .320 hitting, three aces, three digs and two assists, while sophomore Elia Rubin hit .421 with 10 kills and 13 digs for her eighth double-double of the year.

 



Setter Kami Miner controlled the offense with 35 assists and was 4-for-4 (1.000) attacking. The junior also recorded a match-best 14 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Libero Elena Oglivie tallied 11 digs and four assists.

Middle blocker McKenna Vicini hit .600 with seven kills on 10 swings with just one miscue. Junior Sami Francis returned to the lineup after missing the previous two matches due to injury. The middle blocker had a match-best four blocks and a pair of kills.
