TUCSON, Ariz. – Jaleesa Caroccio and Alayna Johnson have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced by the CSC on Tuesday.
To be named to the All-District Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and must have competed in at least 50% of their team’s competitions during the year. They must have additionally completed at least one full calendar year at their current institution.
Jaleesa, a business management major has a 3.63 GPA, is receiving her first Academic All-District selection. The defensive specialist has been a vital part of Arizona’s defense, playing in 19 of the Wildcats’ 29 matches. She has recorded 27 digs, six assists and four aces this season.
Johnson, a sports and society major, has a 3.55 GPA. Johnson had a breakout sophomore season, tallying 174 kills with a .298 clip. She is second on the team in total blocks (93), block assists (87), and blocks/set (0.85).
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December.
