Carter, Klika Named PNC Achievers of the Week

Women’s Volleyball’s Emmy Klika and Football’s Daniel Carter were named this week’s PNC Achievers of the Week.

Emmy Klika recorded 15 digs against No. 3 Penn State as well as 10 and two assists in the sweep over ECU. In the sweep of Marquette Klika achieved a season-high 18 digs. She notched 43 digs and seven assists for the nine sets played, averaging 4.78 digs per set and 0.78 assists per set.

Running back Daniel Carter ran for a career-high 109 yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries in Pitt’s dominant 73-17 win over Youngstown State on Saturday. Carter added another score on a 13-yard reception to give him a career-best 3 total touchdowns and 122 all-purpose yards as Pitt improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2000. The Margate, FL native ran for a career-long 24-yard touchdown in the first quarter before shattering that rush later in the half, breaking free for a 43-yard score that put the Panthers up 35-3.  Carter became the first Pitt player to rush for 100 yards and two touchdowns in a game since Israel Abanikanda did at Miami in 2022.
