Cats Fall to Colorado on Senior Day

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona dropped its final home match of the season to Colorado, 19-25, 26-24, 22-25, 17-25 on Wednesday.  
 
Emery Herman reached 1,000 season assists in the second set – her second straight season with 1,000 assists. Sofia Maldonado Diaz led Arizona with 15 kills and four blocks and Zyonna Fellows followed with 11 kills and six blocks. Kamaile Hiapo had 17 digs to lead the defense on Senior Day.
 
Colorado won the first set, 25-19. Arizona kept the set close, but the Buffaloes hit .433 in the set to overcome the Wildcats. Hodge led Arizona with three kills and four Wildcats tallied two kills each.
 
Arizona won the second set, 26-24, to tie the match. Hodge and Maldonado Diaz had four kills and Fellows and Herman each recorded three kills to lead the Wildcats to the second-set victory. Arizona served six aces in the set, led by Maldonado Diaz with three.
 
The Buffaloes took the third set 25-22. Despite Arizona totaling 4.0 blocks in the third set, Colorado out-hit the Cats to take a 2-1 lead in the match. Maldonado Diaz had five kills and Alayna Johnson knocked down four kills. Fellows led the defense with four blocks – one solo and three block…
