Cats Take Down Wake Forest in Four Sets

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Arizona won its fourth match of the season, 3-1, against Wake Forest. Jaelyn Hodge led the way for the Cats on offense with a season-best 20 kills while hitting .350 and Zyonna Fellows held down the defense with eight blocks. Emery Herman recorded her first double-double of the season with 32 assists and 19 digs. 
 
Arizona won the first set, 25-20, after taking an early lead that Wake Forest couldn’t catch. Hodge had eight kills and hit .385 in Set 1. Fellows picked up three blocks – two solo and one assisted – in the set. Ana Heath and Puk Stubbe served on ace each to push Arizona past Wake Forest. 
 
The Cats went up 2-0 on Wake Forest after winning the second set, 25-22. Despite both teams recording only nine kills in the set, Arizona capitalized on errors from the Demon Deacons to take the two-set lead in the match.  
 
Wake Forest took the third set, 25-17. The Demon Deacons out-hit and out-blocked Arizona to force a fourth set.
 
Hodge once again led the way with six kills to push Arizona to the fourth-set 25-22 victory. The Cats had four blocks in the set and Fellows was a part of each one. Emery Herman served an ace in the fourth set to help secure the match win.
