Astana, Kazakhstan, 6 July 2023 – Titleholders China eased into the 2023 WPV Sitting Volleyball Asian Zone Championships women’s finale after surging into a straight-sets win on Korea, 3-0 (25-1, 25-3, 25-2) on Thursday evening at the Kazakh capital’s Jekpe-Jek Sports Centre.
The winners of the 2019 edition and Tokyo 2020 Paralympics silver medal team proved too strong for their colleagues from East Asia. In the teams’ previous match-up in the Asian Zonals in Thailand, China posted similar results with a strong straight-sets victory.
China will now strengthen their claim toward a slot to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, as they face off with Iran in the women’s title match on Saturday, 8th of July, at 14:30 local time.
