Clark and Richardson Earn Academic All-District Honors


GREENWOOD, IN – The 2024 Academic All-District® Women’s Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women’s volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
 
Elmira’s Makenna Clark ’25 and Morgan Richardson ’25 were honored as members of the 2024 Academic All-District® Women’s Volleyball Teams for the Purple & Gold. This is Clark and Richardson’s first CSC All-Academic recognition, as both have appeared on the Empire 8 President’s List several times at Elmira.
 
Clark, a native of Bainbridge, New York, started 24 of 25 matches this season for the Soaring Eagles while recording a team-high 235 points, 177 kills, and 53 service aces. Clark averaged 2.87 points per set, 2.16 kills per set, and 0.65 aces per set.
 

Clark recorded double-digit kills in six matches for the Purple & Gold, including a career-high 16 against SUNY Potsdam. She also recorded 13 digs in that match for Elmira and was responsible for 20 points. Clark is a Mathematics & Actuarial, and Financial Science double major at Elmira.
 

Richardson, a native of Syracuse, New York, played in 85 of Elmira’s 87 sets this season as she started 24 of 25 matches. Richardson finished the season with 159 kills and 26 service aces, accounting for 191.5 points for the Purple & Gold.
 
Richardson recorded double-digit kills in eight matches for the Soaring Eagles, including a season-high 14 against SUNY Delhi. In Elmira’s final match of the season, she finished with 12 kills and a career-best five service aces against Utica. Richardson is an Early Childhood Education major with a minor in Special Education.
 
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All- America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
