EAST LANSING, Mich. – The No. 14 Purdue volleyball squad (17-6, 8-5 Big Ten) took down Michigan State (10-14, 1-12 Big Ten), 3-1 (18-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-16) Friday night inside the Breslin Center.
Raven Colvin set the Purdue four-set match record (20+ attempts) with her errorless .696 attack %. Not only were her 16 kills the most-ever for the sophomore during a Big Ten match, but came two shy of her career-best (18 vs. Utah, 9/2/22). The Indianapolis, Indiana native added a career-best seven digs and four blocks (one solo, three assisted) to round out her performance.
Megan Renner, coming off the best performance of her career vs. Indiana last Sunday, guided the team with her second career double-double. The redshirt junior dished out 42 assists, setting a new Big Ten season-high to go with 11 digs (one shy of her career-best).
As a team, Purdue out-attacked Michigan State, .259 versus .194 and out-blocked its host, nine to six.
Maddy Chinn posted a career-best 13 kills alongside a .321 attack %. Meanwhile, Eva Hudson served up a career-high four aces in the match in addition to 12 kills and eight digs.
Up next, Purdue will face a Michigan team receiving votes in the latest AVCA polls on Sunday afternoon. The match, which is set for a 2 p.m. ET start in front of a sold-out crowd, will be streamed on B1G+.
