TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sydney Conley, Audrey Koenig and Emery Dupes were each named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon.
“We have a very competitive academic team. While volleyball is an important part of their college experience, they understand that their academic achievements will last a lifetime and are important for their career after volleyball. I’m very proud that these young ladies have been recognized,” Head Coach Chris Poole said.
Conley, Koenig and Dupes have been key pieces to the Seminoles’ 18-9 season and have also been phenomenal in the classroom. Koenig leads the team in kills with 298 and is second on the team in aces with 32. Koenig is the fastest Nole to reach 200 kills since Payton Caffrey in the 2019 season as she reached 200 kills in 18 matches this season. Koenig is majoring in biological science and holds a 4.00 GPA. Koenig was named to the 2021 All-ACC Academic team.
Conley has had a great junior year campaign and has been a valuable piece for the Noles this season. Conley has played in every match this season and has tallied 133 kills and 59 blocks for the Seminoles. Conley is majoring in sociology and holds a 3.776 GPA.
After battling injuries in the first part of the season, Dupes has been a staple for the Noles at libero this season. Dupes leads the team in digs with 259 total digs this season. Dupes has added 15 aces this season for the Seminoles. An exploratory major, Dupes holds a 3.682 GPA. Dupes was also named to the ACC All-Academic Team in 2021.
To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District Team, athletes must have a 3.50 GPA or higher and must have played in at least 50% of the teams’ total sets in the season.
The Seminoles return to the court on Wednesday when they take on Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. First serve is set for 3 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
