Davis Signs Multi-Year Contract Extension

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern head volleyball coach Shane Davis has signed a multi-year contract extension with the University, Combe Family Vice President for Athletics & Recreation Derrick Gragg announced Friday.

“We are excited to keep Coach Davis as the leader of Northwestern volleyball,” said Combe Family Vice President for Athletics & Recreation Dr. Derrick Gragg. “He is extremely well respected in the volleyball community for his knowledge of the game, ability to recruit and develop talent and, of course, his previous accomplishments as both a player and a coach. Coach Davis and his staff have worked diligently to build a solid foundation here in Evanston, and our Northwestern community is looking forward to the program’s future ascension with Coach Davis at the helm.”

“I am extremely grateful to Dr. Gragg and the administration for the confidence they have in our staff’s vision for Northwestern volleyball,” said Davis. “It’s truly an honor to coach at one of the world’s premier institutions and compete in the country’s best conference. Thank you to our alumni and fans for your unwavering support of Northwestern volleyball, and to all the student-athletes and staff members that believed in this program and worked tirelessly to build the foundation that is going to set us up for future success. The skill and leadership we have on our current roster combined with the incoming talent will lead to big strides for Northwestern volleyball in the years to come.”

A two-time national champion head coach, Davis recently completed his sixth season at Northwestern, consistently elevating a program that will welcome the No. 7 recruiting class in the nation to Evanston in 2022.
