EVANSTON, Ill. β Northwestern volleyball has named Delaney McCreary as its director of operations, head coach Shane Davis announced on Thursday.
“We are so excited to welcome Delaney to our volleyball staff,” said Davis. “Delaney brings great volleyball experience in all aspects of the sport. Her knowledge, energy and passion for the game will make an immediate impact on our student-athletes and Northwestern volleyball as we continue to work toward achieving our goals of competing at the highest level.”
Prior to coming to Evanston, McCreary served as an assistant coach for University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, starting in the role in 2019. McCreary played a key role in running the program’s day-to-day operations, including organizing camps and social media accounts, and helped the Phoenix ascend to a 21-9 overall record and 12-4 conference record in the 2019 season, along with top-50 finishes in the AVCA and RPI rankings.Β
Additionally, McCreary spent a year coaching at the high school level before joining the Wisconsin-Green Bay staff. She served as an assistant varsity coach for West Bend High School as well as on the staff of the 16 Royal Volleyball Club. McCreary has continued coaching at the club level as the head coach of FC Elite Volleyball Club since 2019.
McCreary also brings experience as a student-athlete to the Wildcat program, having competed for Clarke University in 2014 and University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 2015 to 2017. She graduated from Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and completed her Master’s Degree in Applied Leadership in May 2021.
