Dig Pink Night highlights USI's final homestand


EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana Volleyball (1-21, 1-10 OVC) will begin a four-game homestand with a dual against Morehead State University (11-11, 7-4 OVC) on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at Screaming Eagles Arena. Highlighting Friday’s match is “Dig Pink Night” where the Screaming Eagles are set to show support for breast cancer awareness and its survivors. All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear pink to Friday’s match.

Tickets
USI Volleyball tickets are on sale now, with adult tickets at $8, non-USI students at $5, and all USI students, staff, and faculty with a valid ID and any child 11-and-under are admitted free.
 
Screaming Eagles Headlines:
Eagles Can’t Complete Comeback. The Screaming Eagles were close to earning their first road win of the season in a 3-2 loss to Little Rock last Saturday. USI was down 2-0 until a momentum swing forced a fifth set. The Eagles ended up losing both matches versus the Trojans.
 
You Have To #OVCit. USI is looking to keep their playoff hopes alive as they will host a pair of matches against Morehead State. This will be the first match between the two programs.

Dig Pink. The Eagles will prepare for “Dig Pink Night” on Friday against Morehead State. USI encourages all fans in attendance to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness and its survivors.

 

History Has Been Made. Junior Leah Anderson has hit three milestones this season by becoming the 15th player to reach 1,000 kills, the 13th player to reach 1,000 digs, and the fifth player in program history to reach both feats. She has joined a historic group that includes Shannon Wells, Jamie Roth, Danielle Peter, and Leeanne Gross in the 1,000 kills/1,000 digs club.

 

Season Leaders. Anderson leads the group with 251 kills and 17 aces as junior Katherine Koch holds a team-high 354 assists. On defense, freshman Keira Moore has received 263 digs as sophomore Paris Downing has earned 70 blocks.

 

OVC Leaders. There are four Eagles who sit atop the best in five different categories within the OVC individual standings. Anderson ranks fourth in points per set (3.62) and sixth in kills per set (3.14) while Koch holds the…
